Common avenues for sexeducation areparents or caregivers, formal school programs, andpublic healthcampaigns.Evidence shows that a combination of comprehensive sex educationandaccess to birth control appears to decrease the rates ofunintendedpregnancies among teenagers. A meta-analysis comparedcomprehensivesex education programs with abstinence-only programsfound thatabstinence-only programs did not reduce the likelihoodof pregnancy,but rather may increased it."Few sexual health interventions are designed with inputfromadolescents. Adolescents have suggested that sex educationshouldbe more positive with less emphasis on anatomy and scaretactics;it should focus on negotiation skills in sexualrelationships andcommunication; and details of sexual healthclinics should beadvertised in areas that adolescents frequent (forexample, schooltoilets, shopping centres)."
